My name is Flaviana Mundanga, I’m 22 years old and I live in the municipality of Cazenga (Hoji-Ya-Henda neighborhood).
My story of arriving at Fábrica de Sabão started with the help of my Uncle Jorge, who already worked at Fábrica. I always asked him for help in getting a job because I was not doing anything. Due to my persistence, my uncle made a request to Mrs. Nicol, and one week later she called me to Fábrica.
It was the beautiful year of 2016 when it all happened. I was the last person to join the group of 8 women who worked at MakerMulheres, but I initially started at the MakerSpace.
By just breathing the air of Fábrica de Sabão, I began to gain experience but there was a phase where I unfortunately stopped working. At least, my works (jewelry), made with great love and signed with my name, drowned a little of the sadness of bidding farewell to Fábrica. Sometimes it was hard to stop the tears, my heart was tight because I wanted to do my work again so badly. Three months had gone by at home.
In September of the same year (2016), the party arrived. Yes, the Fábrica de Sabão party was also my party, since my return to Fábrica happened exactly when the Feast of Fábrica happened. I was called to be the Juice Bar attendant, working with Augusta, making natural juices. Ah! It was a busy day … Fábrica de Sabão was our house, being prepared to receive numerous visits.
Okay, the party was a success. As the old saying goes: “after the storm comes a calm.” Unfortunately, to me this saying seems to be applicable in reverse, at least at the time following the party. Well, that job was just something temporary, after this memorable party I went back to staying at home.
In January 2017, I was called again. This time, I started working on the fascinating world of natural juices, that is, I was already at Juice Bar. I was curious to learn how to make sweet juice, but without sugar! In a short period of time, Augusta gave me a lot of experience, including juice names.
Fábrica de Sabão is like a mother to me. It helped to pay for my education and to support my family. It has made me a better woman. In addition to jewelry with recycled materials and natural juices, I also learned how to deal with customers, gained experience of the juice market, learned how to attract customers, most importantly, I gained a new profession.
In a few more years, I want to become an entrepreneur, open a company of my own and spread the good example carried out by Fábrica de Sabão: giving opportunities and providing education for those in need, this way Fábrica will be able to change the community and in the future, why not the world?
Now, the correct order of the old saying can be used: “after the storm comes a calm.”
