ANGOLA TAKES INNOVATION TO ANOTHER LEVEL

Southern Africa can now boast a similar venture to Nairobi’s iHub – Fábrica de Sabão (FdS) is Angola’s first hybrid innovation hub that combines poverty alleviation with nurturing young African startups to support niche urban manufacturing.

How We Made it in Africa: An old soap factory turned co-working space in Luanda

The building, once an old soap factory, has been refurbished and is now lined with old shipping containers which have been turned into offices, workshops, meeting rooms and a market place where products made at Fábrica de Sabão are sold. The hub also functions as a start-up incubator, where entrepreneurs can draw on the knowledge and expertise of partners and affiliates at the workspace, together with receiving peer-to-peer mentorship, training and access to networking opportunities.
